Magnitude 6.3 quake strikes northeast of Tonga: USGS
(Reuters) – A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the northeast coast of the South Pacific island country of Tonga on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey stated. There have been no fast stories of injury.
The quake struck 185 km (115 miles) east northeast of the capital, Nuku’alofa, at a intensity of 80.five km (50 miles).
Tonga, a Polynesian archipelago comprising 169 islands, is steadily hit via quakes, section of the geologically energetic Pacific Ring of Fire.
